MOVIE TO WATCH – NIGHT SWIM

(SPOILER ALERT)………

I read somewhere online that Stephen King gave it a good review (not sure if it was his genuine comment but I bit) so I watched it and it was good. It reminded me of a childhood fear of mine…

For me it was the neighbors’ pool. By day I was a happy mermaid with crinkled skin and swimmers’ ear (and way too many sunburns to count). BUT at night my nightmares also focused on that pool – secret compartments opening up with sharks coming out for me and being unable to climb out…

Since then I think I saw a movie that depicted this (or was it another dream???)….Anyway I liked it and (like much of King’s work) it brings us back to those vulnerable days and that is what gives it so much power. I had some general questions (like did they find the bodies of Rebecca and Ray? If the pool water is now spread as the water is drained does that now pollute the town? What was the pool’s ultimate reach if it could control objects around and far from the pool? Seems to have been demons underground).

In one scene Kerry Condon (who plays Eve Walker) talks about being thrown into a pool by her dad as a kid to learn to swim. I was thrown over the edge of the pool by my Papa at about 3 while my grandmother kept my mom busy and in the house. Well -I am here to talk about it but I did not choose this method for anyone that I raised…

I watched some others but I have already forgotten them…

I still think there is nothing quite like watching a horror movie and being truly engrossed in it…I try to watch as I did when I was a kid, without asking alot of plot questions and just experiencing the movie. Still one of my favorite things to do. Hope you enjoy as well!!!
